Programs

Four ways we work with researchers.

Compute grants

Unrestricted GPU credits for principal investigators, sized to the proposal. No co-authorship required, no editorial review of the resulting paper. The largest grant funded in 2025 was 4.2M GPU-hours.

Joint research projects

Co-authored work with iframe.ai researchers, typically on long-context inference, kernel optimization, or multi-vendor systems. We provide both compute and engineering time.

Sabbaticals and visiting positions

Faculty take semester-long sabbaticals at the lab. Compensation matches the home institution; we provide office space, compute, and admin support.

Summer PhD program

Twelve PhD students each year spend ten weeks in the lab. Stipend, housing, mentor pairing. Returning interns become permanent collaborators on whatever project they shipped.

How to apply

Two-page proposal. Two-week response.

    Submit a proposal

    Two pages on the question, the compute estimate, and the publication plan. Faculty appointments only for the PI.

  2. 02

    Scoping call

    Thirty-minute review with someone from the lab. We give honest feedback on scope and tractability before committing capacity.

  3. 03

    Decision in two weeks

    We respond within fourteen days. Approved grants are paired with a named contact at the lab.

  4. 04

    Provisioned within five days

    Compute is available the week after approval. The university's IRB and procurement office stays in the loop.
